The Use of Graffiti as Nonverbal Communication

I read recently about using graffiti in different countries such as; Colombia, Brazil, Hunduras and Argentina. How does each country use of nonverbal communication esta información? How does it compare to? are the questions that I will answer through this post basing on the links at the end. 

I realized that in Colombia the majority of the use of graffiti is to express disagreement with the things handled by the state or political issues, to create awareness among people that a change is needed. in Brazil and Honduras graffiti have a similar use, are considered illegal graffiti but have as purpose to inform people that something is happening and is something that no one is paying attention. but it is not always the case, some artists just painted to attract people and their art is appreciated by all. this can be observed in Argentina where this art is not considered as bad, on the contrary will provide space for artists to be able to express. comparing them with the use given to it in Northern Africa can say that everywhere in the world graffiti is used to deliver messages to other people either express any disagreement or just something you feel. and is a way that makes us see things that we do not realize.

Bangkok's 'Mexican' Gangsters

Thai gangsters are an example of the cultural appropriation of another subculture because they belong to a totally different culture to Mexicans who they are trying to imitate. At first view I thought this was a group of criminals or something like that for his physical appearance, but I realized that is totally diferente. I realized that they are a group of people as any that come together to express this kind of culture as a hobby and do not cause trouble to the community, they Just have a little of fun between them due to they share something in common, is more each of them has a job (within which are cops, technicians, teachers, bureaucrats) and family. I found it interesting that a group of people as they adopt a culture like this, among them are like a family and some leaders see as a role models. in a way I believe that cultural appropriation is fine but I think it is better when a group of people representing their own cultural constumbres where they have the opportunity to learn about the place where they belong.

My View About Racism Against AfroColombians

It's a shame that in our country such situations occur because much of the population is black and should be considered as some citizens more, giving the same opportunities. I surprisingly seemed that only 2 out of 100 Afro Youth have the opportunity to get a good education to get ahead, this is because they can not provide the basis for good higher education or the simple fact that they do not have the means to meet these expenses. Racism in Colombia even though some do not see it directly affects us all as a country, because less opportunities are provided to those who have the capabilities for the fact of being different, taking away the opportunity to improve their ways of lives. We should not let these situations are reflected in education or at work, we should be the ones that we help to prevent this occurs. Have equality among all to better our country to ourselves and the world.

A Little About Me

My name is Sergio López, I am currently studying mechanical engineering at the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Atlántico, in Colombia. but actually I am from Santa Marta, Colombia. It was a big change live without my family at the beginning with time i get used to be here, even though there is time in what i really miss them.
